Ever since the premiere of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with rich lore, a wide array of characters, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, demons, and malevolent powers growing in strength within Dol-Makjar.
Note: Key plot points for the latest installment of this adventure are included.
The Warrior Group Introduced
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and introduced the premier party of adventurers who will split off from the main group to undertake their own adventure, separate from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the agile character (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With 13 cast members, it was clear from the beginning that keeping everyone at a single group would be unfeasible.
Hence, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for players who are drawn to a traditionally charged combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are few and far between.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might look unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
First, the party has a clear idea where to go next after a intense opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing initiated the story’s plot—used the foes for his personal gain, invading Thjazi’s hideout, assaulting the rogue, and swiping all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then settled his debts and escaped to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Character Drivers
Moreover, each adventurer has a individual motive to exit the urban setting:
- The rogue, as the companion and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure knows the northern area and warns that it is a hostile environment.
- Tyranny and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- Yet, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the team reach areas they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his rescue and will now go with him wherever.
Fugitives
Finally, all of them are sought by the rulers that control Dol-Makjar for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This leaves them little choice but to head to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
From episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the other eight cast members to round up the Questers and Planners parties.
Viewers can anticipate finding out which adventurers will be in which group in the season’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
