'I'm fully all in with Bayern' - Kane dampens on Premier League comeback

Kane achieves his century goal for Bayern Munich

Harry Kane has revealed that his enthusiasm in coming back to the Premier League has diminished and he is open to explore a new agreement with Bayern Munich.

The star striker is currently midway through the four-year contract he signed when moving to from Tottenham Hotspur for a substantial fee in the offseason of 2023.

The experienced forward has accumulated an impressive 103 goals in 106 games for the German side, helping them win the 2024-25 Bundesliga championship - which represented the maiden significant achievement of his distinguished career.

Tottenham boss Thomas Frank has earlier expressed that he would welcome to see Kane return to England, where he needs 48 goals to break Alan Shearer's historic Premier League scoring milestone of 260.

However, the England leader has now clarified that he is no longer as keen about going back home as he once was, and would seriously contemplate lengthening his tenure in Bavaria.

"In terms of staying longer, I could definitely see that," he commented.

"I mentioned openly a couple of weeks ago that I have not had those talks with Bayern yet, but if they were to come up I would be open to talk and have an honest conversation.

"Obviously it depends on how the next year or so unfolds and what we achieve together. Right now, I would say we are in a fantastic moment and I am not focusing about anything else.

"In terms of the Premier League, I don't know. If you had inquired me when I first left to go to Bayern, I would have said for sure I would come back.

"Now I have been there a couple of years I would probably say that has decreased a little bit, but I wouldn't say I would never go back.

"What I have learned in my career is that different opportunities and different moments happen and things work out. Going back to my first point with Bayern right now I am completely all in with Bayern."

Historic Achievements and Future Ambitions

Kane is the historic top goalscorer for both Tottenham and England and not long ago became the fastest player this century to reach 100 goals for a club playing in one of Europe's top five leagues, attaining the landmark in just 104 games for Bayern.

However, a trophy had escaped him until he lifted the German title last season.

Kane admits that he was not sure how he would respond after breaking his trophy wait, but now thinks it has made him motivated for more success.

"When you win a title like I did last year, maybe it could be natural to go the other way and be like, 'OK I've done what I wanted to achieve'," he added.

"But it's given me more drive to do more and be better. I think I've proven that this year.

"I was intrigued in how I would feel after winning a trophy. Obviously there's still a lot more I want to attain in terms of other trophies and bigger trophies for sure.

"But I think it was always just, in my head, what I was going to feel like after I did achieve winning my first one.

"But for sure, I challenged myself the other way in terms of being even better, maintaining even cleaner, doing more gym. Just trying to get the most out of what I've got right now."

Future Prospects

  • Ongoing success with Bayern Munich stays Kane's main focus
  • The option of a Premier League return has considerably decreased
  • New contract discussions could commence in the upcoming future
  • Kane's exceptional goal-scoring form continues to impress
